Ato Ulzen-Appiah was bred in Ghana, where he spent the formative years of his education in the KNUST schools. He attended senior secondary school at Presby Boys' Secondary School, Legon where he was involved in literary, and protocol activities.
He did his undergraduate education at MIT where he majored in Civil Engineering, researching in geotechnical engineering while taking classes at the Sloan Business School. At MIT, he was involved in education funding in Ghana through MIT-EASE and information technology and entrepreneurship through MIT-AITI as well as studying international development through D-Lab.
Ato is in a Construction, Engineering and Management program at Stanford, CA. He is interested in entrepreneurship and all forms of development, likes to meet people and loves to play soccer, table tennis, scrabble and sudoku. He also likes to perform spoken word.
